I received the following in today's mail:
"Dear Ms. Marton,
Thank you and all the members of the NE Oddball Knitters for your most recent donation of two bags of colorful handmade blankets for our P.T. Barnum Pediatric Center. As you know, our Pediatric Nurses look forward to sharing these beautiful items with our youngest patients to brighten up the time they spend with us.
Please be sure to thank all of your talented fellow crafters for always thinking of our littlest patients. We sincerely appreciate the generosity and fun-filled spirit of all those involved with this ongoing endeavor.
Best wishes to all for a very happy and healthy holiday season!
Sincerely,
Susan M. Chudwick, CFRE
Director of Development
Bridgeport Hospital Foundation"
I finally got over to Bridgeport Hospital this morning only to find that I couldn't go upstairs to the Pediatrics Unit because of the H1N1 concerns. No problem, as I left two bags with our ten newly completed worsted weight blankets with the hospital's fine security team.
Our Two Bags of Bliss!
Blankets delivered this morning included our fiftieth worsted weight blanket, Butter Mints. Other blankets in the two bags were Sunflowers, Marshmallow, Lollipop, Neon Fun II, A Whole New World, Flower Power, Central Park, Blissful Blues and Under the Sea.
Many, many thanks to the numerous knitters (and crochet folks) who worked on the above blankets. Know that your efforts will warm the little bodies of some very deserving babies here in the greater Bridgeport, CT region.
Fondly,
Gail
